As ModoNauts, (yes that’s what we call ourselves) we aim for beautiful solutions in everything we do. We are self confessed #paymentsgeeks and take our platform and security deadly seriously, but try not to take ourselves too seriously.

Colm Bergin

Chief Operating Officer & The Conductor

Chief Operating Officer
Colm Bergin brings 30 years of software development and leadership experience to Modo.  He has developed software, in a variety of industries, including telecom, financial services and electronic payments, has coached teams in the use of agile methods to build software more efficiently, and has led development and consulting organizations, large and small, most recently as CTO at Placemark Investments.   Prior to that, at S2 Systems, Colm led development of the company’s enterprise payment transaction processing platform.  The years at S2 and subsequently at ACI Worldwide fostered an interest in modernizing payments systems, which not-coincidentally dovetails rather nicely with Modo’s vision of delivering innovate solutions painlessly connecting new online payments experiences to existing payments infrastructure. / Email

Sales Engineer
With a background in software development, Jeff decided that pounding out code was best left to people who didn’t like daylight.  So, he left coding to pursue opportunities in biz dev and product management in the telecomm industry.  In 2002, when the economy provided a *cough* push out of telecomm, he took the opportunity to pursue more entrepreneurial ventures outside of technology.  But missing the mental challenges of technology, Jeff reentered the field in the payments space.  Merging a background in software, a love of education, and the mental challenges of the payments space, he now works with our partners to learn their challenges and educate them about our platform.  He also works with our internal sales and engineering teams to develop innovative solutions our business partners can deploy to further their success. / Email

Jason manages Modo’s server and network infrastructure. He actually started his career as a civil engineer, but, found there were not that many different ways to build a road. Jake has kept the electronic highways humming for a wide variety of businesses for well over a decade . If he makes it big, he’ll buy his own mountain getaway and run fiber to it so he can manage things from there. Ironically, in so doing, he’ll have to build a road. If you were willing to hold Jake’s glasses, he could take down Chuck Norris. / Email

Connector Queen
Rachelle graduated with a degree in Computer Information Technology from Brigham Young University – Idaho. While in the land of potatoes and tractors she learned all about hard work and humility, which has caused her to develop a disdain to the whole idea of talking about past accomplishments in a public manner. She understands that some detail about one’s self is a necessary evil, so she would like to throw out there one of her best qualities – a desire to know everything. That is one reason she chose to get involved with technology: it opens doors for any person to learn everything. / Email

If anything tastes weird at Modo, blame Bruce. He’s been knocking around the payments industry for a while, after stints in enterprise software, consulting, and fixed-income sales & trading. Colm occasionally says things that make people laugh, at which point he almost always claims that either (a) he doesn’t see what’s funny or (b) it actually isn’t cool to laugh at people with funny names and funny accents.

When not geeking out with Modo people, Colm might be found indulging his particular drug of choice: running, which has introduced him to lifelong friends, given him bad knees and proven uniquely capable of causing him to confuse pleasure and pain.  Squash is a close second, but nobody in Texas knows what that is, so he doesn’t talk about it much. / Email

It is unclear whether there is a technology on the planet Greg doesn’t know how to make do his bidding. Greg recently achieved WoW level Ultra-Centauri 9, and regularly kicks orc butt.
