Modo digital payments solutions sit on top of single or multi-tenant AWS Cloud infrastructures with a Modo COIN core back-end and several app servers with client-facing APIs on the front-end. Front-end development may be a simple app server or full consumer-facing application.  Modo specializes in interoperability by assisting large organizations in new innovative solutions by connecting to many 3rd party payment systems for pay-outs, pay-ins, fraud, and settlement.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
  • Expert level test plan generation via an API test tool such as Postman
  • Test RESTful APIs/OpenAPIs
  • Effectively analyze requirements and implementation designs
  • Act as an individual contributor driving the QA side of development projects
  • Design test strategies for complex applications for production use at scale by collaborating with developers to define test criteria
  • Manage releases with complex code pipelines to multiple enterprise environments (integration,sandbox, production, etc.)

  • Understand source code management and revision control (Git preferred)
  • Communicate to the technical team, reporting issues with confidence and clarity.
  • Collaboratively pursue problem resolution with diplomacy and perseverance.
  • Utilize Test automation, knowing when is the right time to automate and best practices for automating test procedures.
  • Write/comprehend simple JavaScript or other programming language at a basic level
  • Write/comprehend JSON – basic knowledge for API-level test creations

Preferred Experience

  • Customer support and interaction
  • Solution development in an environment requiring PCI or similar compliance levels­­
  • Serverless, Microservices, CI/CD, and cross-platform development
  • Production AWS or other public cloud solutions
  • TeamCity or other similar continuous integration tools
  • Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence, Slack, etc.)
  • Proficiency interacting with Relational and NoSQL Database technologies
  • Identifying requirements/impact gaps during sprint planning
  • Working with a development team to resolve code commit, check-in, compliance or build issues

Extra Credit – Experience with Any of the Following:

  • Digital payments solutions
  • Integrating with eCommerce Platform(s) like Magento and/or ERP systems like SAP
  • Test-Driven Development (TDD), and/or Behavior-Driven Development (BDD)
  • AWS CodeCommit
  • Docker
  • Load testing
