Product Manager, /Checkout

Our /Checkout product team makes it easy for merchants accept payments across the world: enabling connectivity in a secure and agile way.

About the role and the team:

At Modo, our goal is to do the most good for the most people by reducing friction in payments. We do this by helping organizations connect to payments services across the world to accept payments their customers want to use, from traditional payment service providers to alternative payment methods.

Our ideal Product Manager has led technical products or large-scale platforms, has an extreme attention to detail, concisely communicates complex concepts, and is driven by reliability and financial correctness as well as beautiful product UX and API design.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Create APIs and product definitions
  • Experience working on large scale platforms or infrastructure
  • Collaborate between engineering, design, analytics, marketing and sales teams
  • Work closely with customers to empathize, understand, identify opportunities, and build products
  • Strong written and verbal communication to articulate customer problems and product approaches
  • Driven to continuously improve product, optimizing for shipping a portfolio of small, medium and large releases
  • Getting stuff done: you will do what is necessary to make your product successful from writing a QA plan to getting to the root cause of customer frustration

Required Experience:

  • Built APIs, products, and complex systems at scale
  • Experience working on large scale platforms or infrastructure
  • Collaborated between engineering, design, analytics, marketing and sales teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication with a talent for articulating customer problems and product approaches
  • Decoding third-party APIs and mapping into interoperability platforms
  • Experience managing technical software products from inception to ship
  • A computer science, math, or science degree or software engineering experience

Preferred Experience:

  • Payments experience
  • Experience defining eCommerce products
  • Experience working with JIRA and Confluence
  • Pixel perfect UX and UI design with tools like Sketch, Illustrator or Affinity Designer
